Now that we all have to work at home and it is uncertain when we can go back to the office, we have to give in to the fact that we yearn for such an office day. We would almost say that we are starting to miss our trip there a little... Almost then. That is why this blog is dedicated to an office tour through the office of Yeefu / Saltycustoms. With this we want to give you a glimpse into our office life and how we work to be more personal and to create a clearer picture of who we actually are as a company.

Start of the week
How do we start our day? Every day when we walk into our office it is a tradition to high-five each other and wish each other a good morning before we start working. This is a way for us to have personal contact with all our colleagues, even if it’s small and simple. In this way, everyone also has a clear overview of who is present at the office that day, which is also useful.

On Monday we always start with our 'All-hands meeting' in which we take the time to discuss briefly what we have done during the weekend and then move on to the upcoming week. Each employee prepares for the meeting and tells the others what he or she will be doing this week and what may hinder him. This way we know what the needs and struggles of each other are and this makes it easier to keep an eye on the progress process.

After this meeting, we will know what to do and we will get to work. Employees who still have separate meetings with each other will schedule these themselves.

Lunch-time
We have lunch around noon. We always take the time to go to a lunch spot close to our office. During lunch, we chat a lot and take the time to socialize. This is so that the mutual bond between the employees becomes good and strong, but also to have a light and informal moment during the working day. We often use lunchtime to plan specific meetings with a few colleagues. For example, this could also be a lunch meeting with a new customer to build a relationship.

After lunch
After lunch, we actually work until the day is over. Apart from meetings, we are all in the office and we often work independently on our tasks. An important rule in our working atmosphere is that instead of walking directly to a person and asking something, we first send a virtual message via Workplace. This is to prevent an employee with a lot of work from being delayed and hindered by others. In the event that an employee responds to a message, one can of course approach the person to continue the conversation immediately. Previous experiences show that it is more difficult to indicate that you do not have time when someone is standing in front of you with a request. In this way, we give everyone the space to do their own thing and also help others.
